What Can Teens Find at the Library?

What Can Teens Find at the Library?

When I was young my dad used to take me to the library a lot. Our closest library was the Beaches Branch in Jacksonville Beach. I can remember visiting the old Main Library Downtown too occasionally. I remember the library being peaceful and quiet. I enjoyed picking out books to take home. I also had to use some of the library’s resources for homework and class projects. The internet was not as common in every house or as fast in the 90’s. I had to research through books and even old newspapers. The library was a meeting place for many like it is now and held story time and other small events for locals.

Today, our local libraries are so much more than a place to check out books and do homework. Did you know that the Jacksonville Library offers over 20 different FREE services? What! Click HERE to see all their services. Plus, their website is super user friendly with all kinds of great information about their FREE events and other resources.

The coolest thing is that the library offers a ton of stuff for teens. Stuff you probably didn’t know unless you look at their website and calendar frequently. It’s a pretty hip place nowadays.  Plus, it is a safe environment where teens can socialize with others. Click HERE to learn more. This summer they had FREE summer camp opportunities with everything from film making to robotics to art education. Getting involved with your local library has a lot of potential for making your college application look appealing to colleges and universities.
