SUMMARY:Jacksonville Beach Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Beach Fest 5k/10k and Run/Swim/Run will be held on Saturday\, May 20\, 2017 at 8:00 am in Jax Beach\, on the beach. The event is a fundraiser for the Volunteer Life Saving Corps Competition Team and will be managed by the Corps. 1st Place Sports will be the timing agency. Monies raised are to help fund the Competition Team in their Regional and National competitions\, and for equipment and uniforms. Approximately 200 people are anticipated to attend.

DESCRIPTION:The 21st Annual Southeast US Boat Show\, formally known as the Jacksonville spring boat show\, will take place May 19-21 2017 at the Metropolitan Park & Marina.  The 3-day event includes live seminars\, live music and more.  In addition to boats on display\, there will be live music\, food trucks\, fishing seminars\, exhibits\, in-water displays\, Stand Up Paddleboard Race\, and more.  The Oyster Jam Music Festival will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday at Metro Park. \nTickets are $12 and kids under 16 are free. \nSchedule:\nMay 19\, 10 am to 8 pm\nMay 20\, 10 am to 8 pm\nMay 21\, 10 am to 6 pm

SUMMARY:Dancing in the Street
DESCRIPTION:The 31st annual Dancin in the Street (DITS) festival will kick off Saturday\, May 20 at 11:00am at the Beaches Town Center\, located at the ocean end of Atlantic Boulevard. Events for the one-day festival are scheduled from 11:00am – 9:00pm. For the past thirty one years\, Dancin in the Street has been attracting event-goers from all over Jacksonville as a result of the festival’s entertainment\, food and drink options\, Kid Zone\, and arts and crafts exhibitors. \nBeaches Town Center Agency is the official sponsor of Dancin in the Street; the agency’s board members are responsible for all sales of bricks\, 31st Annual DITS apparel\, and frozen drinks. As the agency’s largest annual fundraiser\, monies raised from Dancin’ in the Street contribute to the ongoing beautification projects to continuously improve the Atlantic and Neptune Beach central business district.
