SUMMARY:2017 Florida Oktoberfest and Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:The first-ever Florida Oktoberfest and Music Festival\, featuring some of the biggest stars in rock\, alternative and country music\, is set for October 6\, 7 and 8\, 2017 in Jacksonville\, Fla.\, officials announced today. Jacksonville’s Metropolitan Park will play host to three jam-packed days and nights of music and Oktoberfest fun. \nSaturday and Sunday will feature national headliners and supporting artists in rock\, alternative\, and country genres and Friday will showcase some of the the nation’s most recognized tribute bands. The complete talent lineup along with tickets surrounding this mega-event will be released in the coming weeks. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday\, August 3rd. Music fans interested in receiving the line up first as well as discounted tickets prior to August 3rd can register at www.TheFloridaOktoberfest.com. \nThe festival will feature activities for all ages including a 100 ft ferris wheel\, games and inflatables zone\, and arts and crafts vendors. Children under the age of 12 are free to attend. Festival goers will be able to travel around Germany and purchase a wide variety of German and Oktoberfest style ales. Additionally\, 15 of North Florida’s most popular food trucks will create a German inspired dish as well as their most popular menu items. \n

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the 10th Annual Datil Pepper Fall Festival the first weekend of October to celebrate St. Johns County’s official plant\, the Datil Pepper! Entrance and parking at the festival is free. \nThis year’s festival we will be partnering with Putnam/St. Johns Farm Bureau and proud to once again have Beach 105.5 as our top sponsor! \nThe festival will be held on October 7-8\, at the UF/IFAS Extension St. Johns County Agricultural Center\, 3125 Agricultural Center Drive\, St. Augustine\, FL 32092\, from 9 am – 4 pm on Saturday\, and 10 am – 3 pm on Sunday. \nA variety of vendors\, both inside and outside\, will showcase their unique items for sale. There will also be the always popular Master Gardener plant sale\, as well as tours of the arboretum and community gardens\, conducted by our Master Gardeners\, throughout the weekend festivities.

DESCRIPTION:Mark October 7th on your calendar if you’re hungry for some of the best plates of BBQ ribs\, chicken\, macaroni and cheese\, banana pudding and sweet potato pie in all of the south! Green Cove Springs will be hosting its 16th Annual Soul Food festival and welcomes children and families of all races and religions! \nThe festival will be held Saturday\, October 7\, at Vera Francis Hall Park. The festival will begin at noon and will feature a variety of southern foods\, children’s activities\, local entertainment and national recording and stage artist\, Tony Grant\, formerly of the R&B group\, Az Yet. \nThe Soul Food Festival is celebrating its 16th year as a well-respected\, family\, fun-filled event. The festival hopes to broaden cultural awareness and unite the community. Events include a parade at noon to kick off the festival\, a softball tournament\, horseshoe tournament\, sweet potato pie contest\, BBQ rib contest\, dance contests\, live entertainment\, antique car show\, motorcycle show and more. Food vendors offer a variety of southern cuisines such as BBQ ribs\, chicken\, collard greens\, southern fried chicken\, sausage and onions\, pork chops\, macaroni and cheese\, potato salad\, blue crab\, fried fish\, grits and more. They will also showcase various southern desserts and drinks. \nTony Grant\, formerly of the R & B group Az Yet\, had star billing in the stage play and DVD series Tell Hell I Ain’t Comin’\, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married and Love Ain’t Supposed To Hurt. In the earlier part his entertainment career\, Tony was cast for the lead role in the stage play “A Good Man is Hard to Find.” From there he has become one of the most popular leading men in the stage play industry.
