National Safety Month – 2 Don’t Text and Drive Scholarships
June is National Safety Month and we’d like to focus on the importance of not texting while driving. Did you know that according to Virginia Tech Transportation Institute you are 23x more likely to get into an accident if you use your phone while driving. we all know it is important to lessen the distractions while driving, especially when it comes to using our phones. Therefore, this month I’d like to highlight 2 important no texting and driving scholarships that are on horizon. Many have heard stories and, sadly, know of people that have been effected by texting and driving. Check out these scholarships to learn more how you can apply and continue to make the pledge to not text and drive:
- Goldberg and Osboune National Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship: $1000 scholarship available to high school and currently enrolled college students who make a pledge to not text and drive. To apply simple fill out a short form and click that you pledge to not text and drive by June 30th. Applicants will be notified on July 31st.
- Don’t Text and Drive Scholarship: $1000 scholarship to high school and enrolled college students who can first state while they take the pledge to not text or drive in 140 characters. 10 finalists will then be selected to write a 500-1000 word essay. Fill out the short form with 140 characters pledge to easily apply by September 30th and you’ll have a chance to win $1000.
