BEACON COLLEGE SUMMER FOR SUCCESS
Beacon College offers a three-week summer educational experience for students entering their senior year of high school. The program is designed to teach the participants useful learning strategies that can be used during their senior year in high school and help them overcome the fear of going to college.

WOLFSON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL’S “CHRISTMAS IN JULY” TOY AND DONATION DRIVE
Main event on July 25; this year there are several ways to participate What: Play is an important part of the healing process for children in the hospital, and Wolfson Children’s Hospital is calling on the community for a sixth year to help make sure there are enough toys and activities for all patients.
GREATER JACKSONVILLE KINGFISH TOURNAMENT
Professional and amatuer anglers and those looking for a fun, family way to spend a week gather in July at Jim King Park & Boat Ramp at Sister Creek for one of the largest kingfish tournament in the Southeast.

A day ALL about girls! Day of the Girl is a subprogram under the JA Girl$ initiative. JA Girl$ and partner organizations, companies, and local entrepreneurs will facilitate workshops on topics of concern for girls and young women ages 11-18 years old in Northeast Florida.

BUILD A BETTER BOT
Love robotics, or want to find out more about it? Then come take part in robot obstacle courses, races, mazes, dance moves and more! Each week, you and your robot will compete to conquer a new challenge. Who will win? For teens ages 12 – 18.
SIX-WEEK VIDEO CHALLENGE
Attention future Spielbergs! Do you have what it takes to Build A Better World At Your Library? Join us to learn the basics of digital film production, from storyboarding to shooting to editing, as you help us produce a short video that promotes the library, literacy, & teens!

CODING FOR TEENS
Learn coding basics this summer in this class geared towards Teens ages 12 – 19. We will cover the basic principles in computer coding and introduce you to the most common coding languages. Learn about free resources you can use to begin learning to code right away.

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp take on the Tennessee Smokies. Single game tickets start at $5, with multi-game and group packages available. Public parking costs $7 and is controlled by the City of Jacksonville. Garage parking is also available next to the Veterans Memorial Arena for $7.

River Region Human Services is hosting Dance Fitness for Funds on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 12pm – 4pm at Dreamers Estudios, located at 9501 Arlington Expressway #329, Jacksonville, Florida. The goal of this event is to raise funds that will be used to purchase back-to-school supplies for low income, under-served children in the Jacksonville.
