We love Autumn and Halloween!!! And to celebrate the amazing month of October, we are hosting The Great Pumpkin Chase 5K & 10K! October is also Domestic Violence Awareness month. We will also be donating at least 15% of each registration to the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
DIVORCE CARE SUPPORT GROUP
Are you or someone you know going through a divorce and could use support? Join Divorce Care’s 13 week seminar/support group to help individuals move forward and rebuild their lives. Adults who are contemplating, going through or in are in post divorce may attend.
UNF NUTRITION STUDENT-LED GROCERY STORE TOURS
Senior level nutrition students from UNF are providing FREE grocery store tours for the community during the month of October. Tours will focus on fruits and vegetables throughout the store, – how to buy, which are the best choices, and easy ways to incorporate them into your family’s eating.
ENVIROFEST
Free | No registration required Join us as we seek ways to cultivate curiosity, respect, and understanding of our shared natural environment, and the plant and animal wildlife in and around the neighborhoods of Jacksonville. Along with yoga, plein-air artists, live music, and eco-friendly art projects, representatives from various environmental agencies will be onsite.

The Haunted Brewery Zombie Hunt is taking over the Anheuser-Busch Brewery every Friday & Saturday in October! Visit Jacksonville BUZZ to find an event for each night! FREAKY FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL
From the creeping and crawling to the disembodied and appalling, the Freaky Food Truck Festival at the The Haunted Brewery Zombie Hunt will come alive Friday, October 6th. Stop by each food truck to be served appetizers and finger foods (so very literally), spooktacular main dishes, desserts, and even a few scary cocktails.

The first-ever Florida Oktoberfest and Music Festival, featuring some of the biggest stars in rock, alternative and country music, is set for October 6, 7 and 8, 2017 in Jacksonville, Fla., officials announced today. Jacksonville’s Metropolitan Park will play host to three jam-packed days and nights of music and Oktoberfest fun.

Velocity hosts Flight Night every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm to 12 midnight. The event features lasers, state of the art sound and lighting, and is open to all ages. Get your tickets in advance, as the event often sells out. Cost is $14/jumping hour.

Join us for the Amelia Island Ride to Cure Diabetes! Located in Northeast Florida, Amelia Island is an island oasis just 35 miles from Jacksonville. At this JDRF Ride, you’ll cycle along pristine beaches, over marshlands and through beautiful maritime forests for up to 100 miles.

FLAGLER RAMA 5K AND MASH-UP
Enjoy a 5K the “Flagler Way” with a run through the Bartram Park and Flagler Station community and showcasing the “love, peace and happiness” in costume and activities. Participants can run, walk or stroll along the designated route or workout with a series of 30-minute exercise classes.
AVONDALE 5K CLASSIC
Come run this great race in Avondale! It is a 5K course through Jacksonville’s historic Avondale district. The course runs around Boone Park and along St. Johns Ave. Don’t miss the post-race block party which will include music, free beer, and drawings for prizes!
2017 DATIL PEPPER FALL FESTIVAL
Please join us for the 10th Annual Datil Pepper Fall Festival the first weekend of October to celebrate St. Johns County’s official plant, the Datil Pepper! Entrance and parking at the festival is free.
RIVER HOUSE RUN
Help kick off JU Homecoming & Family Weekend! This will be a fun and high-energy 5K through the beautiful JU campus; runners will soak in views of the St. Johns, pass under the historic oak trees in the heart of campus, complete a fast lap on the JU track, and finish the race at the the “River House Post-Race Party.”
