JPL Young Writers Contest-$50 Prize!
Jacksonville Public Library’s Young Writers Contest is open to grades 6 – 12. The 1st place winner will receive $50 and be asked to read their story aloud at the closing reception for the Survive to Thrive exhibition on Oct. 21. The 2nd place winner will receive $25. Your original story should: • Be at least 750 words and no more than 1,500 words. • Be double-spaced with 12 point font and no graphics. • Have a title. • Be labeled fiction or nonfiction next to title. • Contain Three D’s—Direct, Delegate and Distract. This completed entry form must be attached to your submission and delivered in person to staff at the Ask Here desk at your local library branch. All entry form information MUST be included on the form for a valid entry. To be eligible teens must be ages 12 – 18, a resident of Duval County, and a Jacksonville Public Library card holder. Deadline for submitting stories is Oct. 15, 2017
